Edinburgh Car Sales

Terrible experience after spending nearly 11k. Before purchasing we test drove and inspected car. We pointed out 3 issues. Breaks were grinding, spare key broken and passenger door handle not flush. We were promised this would all be addressed and fixed including servicing and MOT. Payment was taken in full. We collected car a few days later. I was handed a working key and a folder with spare in it and new MOT with no advisory’s. When i asked about breaks he told me they were fine and had been cleaned. Door handle same as before. Within five minutes of taking car away breaks were worse than before and were now knocking when pressed. On checking key in folder still broken. I called Paul and told him that issues were the same. I told him I would put car into independent garage (Scott’s garage east field) to check breaks. I requested they checked breaks and asked for an MOT check. The MOT came back with several advisory’s including ABS fault. The garage advised they could not identify ABS issue until light came on. ( probably had recently been turned off manually. And could be one or more of several components. When I called Paul and told him he said no problem bring it back it will just be a ring on wheels/ breaks. Returned car, and questioned why nothing was fixed. He was rude and evasive. However I left car and a few days later was told it’s fixed and to collect. Turns out it was a ring on the wheels/ breaks. Imagine that the garage could not identify issue with out full check of everything and Paul new exactly what the issue was. To his credit he did get key fixed. We took car away and within 30 minutes identified another problem. The car advertised with working alarm doesn’t work. Called Paul to ask what we should do as we had payed for a two year warranty with him. We were told in a firm voice if you don’t want it you can have money back just bring it back. We told him we would take to an auto spark and would be in contact with him in writing. Today 20/04/26 and I am writing this review just after collecting car so still need to put into auto spark but want to leave this review before anyone else has to go through what I can only describe as a terrible experience with a far from professional company. Be aware not to be trusted from my experience. Promises you the world until he has your money. Really disappointed with his attitude and invasive attitude. We have also put all problems to him in writing and will only be making contact in writing from now on as his attitude stinks.

The experience at Edinburgh Car Sales was great because picking up my new car took no longer than 15 minutes and the staff were great.

The staff at Edinburgh Car Sales were good because they were super informative, friendly, made sure to explain everything in detail and ensured I understood everything I was signing. Made sure I loved the car and was happy after a test drive!

Edinburgh Car Sales staff were good because they were not in the least bit pushy, happy for me to have a wander around and look but on hand to answer any questions I had, when I was unsure if car would be suitable for large dog … no hesitation to offering to bring my dog and try her in the car, which I did and sealed the deal. They explained car would be serviced and have a full MOT with no advisory’s and were only to happy to show me what work had been carried out during the MOT /service , providing me with the invoice for my records. I would definitely recommend

The experience at Edinburgh Car Sales was good because they were clear and open with all communication and interactions we had. The car was as described and the purchase was completed quickly and efficiently. We also got to say hellow to some lovely dogs too!!
